Knoxville Wedding Photographer – 2 Hodges Photography
Ben and Jen had a destination wedding in the Smoky Mountains on the last consecutive wedding date in our lifetime – 12/13/14. They wanted to have a wintry, Christmastime wedding with family and a few friends, and chose Summit View Lodge for the wedding weekend getaway. We were completely surprised when Jen told us which cabin they were getting married at – of all the cabins in the Sevierville area, it’s the one cabin we had photographed a wedding at before! While Jen did not get her wish for snow, she did have a beautiful wedding that we were honored to capture.
As many destination weddings are, all of the details were DIY except for the delicious food provided by Chef’s Catering. Jen incorporated several Christmassy elements, including mistle toe for their first kiss as husband and wife. There were also jokes and surprises. When it was time to exchange rings, the ringbearer told Ben and Jen to show him the money! Also, Jen and Ben had been waiting to surprise their entire family with the news that they are expecting baby number 2! As you can imagine, their marriage was several years in the making with unexpected delays, but no doubt Ben and Jen have created a family full of love.
Jen was absolutely glowing on her wedding day! We loved her vintage-like wedding dress and wintry bridal bolero. Each of their accents coordinated perfectly with a Smoky Mountain cabin wedding.
To Ben and Jen: We were so honored to be included in your intimate destination wedding as your Knoxville wedding photographers. Getting to know you over the past several months has been so much fun and definitely created stories we will not soon forget! We look forward to seeing your family grow! Congratulations!
