Knoxville Wedding Photographer – 2 Hodges Photography
Samantha and Nick had a fall wedding at The Standard in Knoxville, Tennessee. Their wedding day included so many of our “wedding favorites,” making it a wedding we will not soon forget.
The day started with Samantha surprising Nick with a gift – photo pendants of Nick’s mom and uncle that he could pin to the inside of his jacket to have them near his heart on his wedding day.
The unique details of Samantha’s wedding dress made it a favorite. Between pearl strands draping her back and long lace sleeves, it was stunning. Her hair was loosely put up with waves and curls and a fishtail braid. The result was reminiscent of Queen Elsa from Frozen, but Samantha’s glowing happiness definitely created a stunning beauty that is all her own. Her bouquet by Echelon Florist was the perfect final touch.
The colors for this wedding day were navy, gold and pink. The guys were in navy suits and the girls wore dresses with gold sequins and flowing pink skirts that were perfect for dancing and twirling.
Since the sun sets early in late November, Samantha and Nick chose to have a First Look which allowed us plenty of time for couple’s photos and photos at sunset, all before the wedding ceremony. We love taking photos at The Standard when the sun is setting!
The wedding ceremony included something we had been hoping to see at a wedding … the grandmothers were flower girls! Samantha’s aunt officiated, and after Nick and Samantha’s personal vows and exchange of rings, just when you think it’s time for Nick and Samantha to have their first kiss as husband and wife, Samantha’s aunt felt called to pray one more time. Then, they kissed. Twice.
It’s easy to see how loved Nick and Samantha are by many, many friends and family. Their reception was practically standing room only! As guests encouraged Nick to smash cake in Samantha’s face, we had to laugh as Samantha strongly encouraged him not to cave to peer pressure. Next, Samantha’s sister and Nick’s brother, the maid of honor and best man, gave some of the funniest speeches we have had the privilege of hearing. It turns out, Nick and his brother go way back … all the way to his birth! DJ Chris with Ogle Entertainment Light and Design filled the dance floor, and Samantha and Nick danced the rest of their night away.
Samantha and Nick: Your love and joy for each other and life and your excitement to be married to each other is just one small part of what we love about you. Thank you so much for letting us capture your day as your Knoxville wedding photographers. Your wedding was beautiful, and we love seeing how much you are both loved.
