Knoxville Wedding Photographer – 2 Hodges Photography
Leftover rain from Hurricane Joaquin could not dampen the spirits of Lee and Ervin on their October wedding day in Knoxville, TN. The rain was just starting in the Westmoreland Heights area of Knoxville when we arrived at the home Lee grew up in, but she was all smiles and didn’t even mention the weather. In addition to seeing Lee’s stunning ballgown-style wedding dress from Alexander’s Boutique in Fall River, MA, her family had also set out the wedding dresses Lee’s and Ervin’s moms wore on their wedding days. We loved that they were all set out for a generational photo!
Lee and Ervin chose to have a First Look. Since it was raining, we didn’t go beyond the front porch, but nothing could take away from Lee and Ervin’s excitement to see each other and get married. As we wrapped up photos with the wedding party, the rain paused, and we got to take photos of Lee and Ervin in the backyard garden area. We also had fun watching Ervin and his groomsmen play a challenging game of toss the pitchfork in the front yard. We should mention that both Ervin’s and Lee’s dads were groomsmen. We think this speaks so highly of a groom’s character and love when dads are groomsmen. To transport the wedding party to Sacred Heart Cathedral for the half-mass wedding ceremony and then to Concord Yacht Club for the reception, they rented a little yellow bus. On the way to the Knoxville church, we stopped at a waterwheel house for a few more photos.
Lee and Ervin’s relationship includes a deep love for water. They live in Rhode Island where Ervin both sails and sells sailboats. In fact, their first date included a day of sailing around Concord Yacht Club. The Knoxville wedding reception at Concord Yacht Club, including Bradford Catering and live music from Soul Connection, was practically standing room only. Without a doubt, Lee and Ervin are loved by many, and with their passion for life and fun and water, we can easily see why. Several of their friends from Rhode Island even made the trip to Knoxville for the wedding, and we had so much fun capturing them singing and dancing at the reception.
Before the evening wound down, Ervin had a special surprise for Lee. He changed out of his traditional button-down wedding shirt and exchanged it for an extremely festive Margaritaville-inspired button down shirt. To say Lee and Ervin’s wedding day was fun, emotional, and beautiful is an absolute understatement, and being their Knoxville wedding photographers is not an experience we’ll soon forget.
Lee and Ervin: We can hardly believe we weren’t longtime friends before your wedding day. You are both so welcoming and full of life and happiness, and your families and friends are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for letting us capture your wedding day. We hope the photos allow you to always remember your incredible wedding day.
