Megan and Luke became a special couple to us immediately. They are a couple destined to be together, yet neither of them had ever really dreamed of getting married, which makes their story that much sweeter. They are lawyers who met in law school because Luke happens to be very funny, and he made Megan laugh in their first class together. They had a May wedding at Historic Westwood in Knoxville, TN, that gave a nod to the 1920s with Luke’s top hat, long coat tails and cane and Megan’s perfectly classic, vintage-style dress. Megan also has gorgeous, sparkling eyes that were perfectly stunning on her wedding day. Of course, Historic Westwood provided the perfect venue for Megan and Luke to have a vintage wedding. The entire day was full of classic beauty and fun and special moments.
Megan says she and Luke have historically bad luck with weather, which was part of why they wanted a venue with a great indoor wedding option. The weather happened to be perfect on their wedding day, but they had fallen in love with the red library room at Historic Westwood, so their ceremony was in the library. Most of their wedding reception, however, included mingling on the lawn with heavy wedding horderves by Bradford Catering.
For Megan and Luke’s wedding, we also got to work with Lisa Foster Floral Design and DJ Sammy Scott with Ogle Entertainment, and we always love when we get to work with some of our favorite wedding pros!
Historic Westwood has its own wedding love story. It was built as a “wedding promise” in 1890 by John Edwin Lutz and his wife, Ann Adelia Armstrong Lutz. The house and grounds of Historic Westwood offer a beautiful and unique setting Knoxville weddings, and we hope to be back soon!
