If there are two things we love to capture most on a wedding day, they are fun and emotions. This gorgeous Douglas Lake wedding had plenty of both. Courtney wanted a vintage, classic southern-style lake wedding in Sevierville, so they married at a family friend’s cabin lake house, which was full of antiques and charm. We absolutely loved Courtney and Logan’s stellar vintage look from Courtney’s simple white lace dress, side-swept dark hair, and cat-like eyes to Logan’s perfectly curled mustache and the suspenders worn by his groomsmen.
The couple had many wedding details we are still raving about including gorgeous bouquets by Sevierville wedding florist All Occasion Florist, delicious appetizers by Wedding Caterer Barn Event Center of the Smokies, Krispy Kreme doughnuts as wedding favors, a naked strawberry wedding cake, and cinnamon cupcakes as the groom’s cake inspired by Snickerdoodle cookies. Those may have been the best cupcakes we ever tasted. We also loved all the photos from their childhoods decorating the reception area. To end the evening, the bride and groom got to dance on a light-strung deck and send off in a row boat.
Despite encountering a few mishaps leading up to their wedding day (including rings lost in the mail), we love that the newlyweds didn’t let anything stress them out or distract them from what their wedding day was about – marrying their best friends. As if that wasn’t enough for us to fall in love with them as a couple, their honeymoon is a mission trip to Haiti. Also, how could you not love Courtney’s laughter and smile?
Courtney and Logan: While we didn’t get to know you long before your wedding day, you and your families and friends were some of the most welcoming people we’ve ever met. We loved getting to be part of your wedding day, and we are thankful we got to capture your memories as your wedding photographers.
